2.pngAs the cool air approaches, we all need to be aware of how to keep our vehicles up to optimum performance. South Louisiana climate doesn’t always allow us to put winter vehicle maintenance at the top of mind. Well, you no longer have to be in the dark on how to keep your vehicle in great shape for the winter months. The All Star Family is here to shed some light on great winter vehicle tips!

Have you been holding off for an oil change? Well procrastinate no more! Your vehicle should have the right viscosity, or thickness of oil at this time of year. Oil tends to thicken as the temperature drops, and if it is too thick, it would not do the best job of lubricating your vehicle’s engine. Being able to see in conditions when there may be a little ice on the road is imperative. When was the last time your windshield wiper blades were replaced? Wiper blades are usually good for six months to one year depending on the usage, so be sure to change your blades if you are due.  Also, fill up your windshield reservoir with windshield fluid, because plain water would not do this time of year, as it freezes.

These are just a few vehicle tips to keep your vehicle running at optimum performance during the colder months. Even though this is South Louisiana, it is better to be prepared and care for your vehicle properly when the harsh weather times arrive. Schedule your service appointment with us today!

Fall in love with fall all over again by heading out to some events and festivals around Southern Louisiana! Fall is a great season to spend time outdoors with your loved ones. The cool crisp air, and chilled nights bring a magical feel of joy and comfort into your heart. We have gathered a few things to do around Baton Rouge and the surrounding areas.

Head out and take the family to Perkins Rowe for live music and fun! This is a free event full of live music, fun and dancing, which kicks off at 6pm! Rock n Rowe has been going on every Thursday since September, so here is your chance to experience them ending their fall season with a bang!

On another note, if you aren’t able to make it to a live music showcase during the week, try Live After Five! The Repentance Park will be ending their fall run this Friday, October 27. Of course, as always, the concerts are free at Live After Five! Head into the weekend with great tunes playing over and over in your head.

These are just a few fall events to do around our city. There are tons of fall festivities that are going on, and we recommend you and your family get out there and make memories this fall season.  Live music is always the best therapy, to transport you into a wonderful state of mind.

It’s that time again! Tailgating season! The football season has kicked off, and we are here to give you some great tailgating tips! We are for certain these tips will change the way you tailgate; for the better. It is an American tradition after all; to have great food over an intense match-up with your favorite teams. There is nothing better off to a great tailgating day than prepping and packing your tools and food.  You can utilize your toolbox from your shed to pack all of your grilling utensils. You can also store your must have condiments and seasonings. No need to go out and spend money on a grilling carry pack, when you can make use of things around the house. Obviously, you would need to clean your tool box before storing eating utensils.

Freezing bottles of waters for the heat in South Louisiana is not a bad idea either. These frozen bottles of water can be use in the place of ice in your cooler, and best of all, you can get some chilled iced water as they begin to melt!
