2014 is quickly approaching, which means most people are starting to put some thought into their New Year’s Resolutions. While fitness and financial resolutions typically top the list they can sometimes be the hardest ones to keep.  So this year instead of choosing a New Year’s Resolution that isn’t going to last more than a week, how about making one that is easier to keep and that will make your vehicle happy!

Here are a few of our favorite resolutions for 2014:

Keep your vehicle clean inside and out.

You’re happier when you are clean, so it’s a safe assumption that your car will be too. Plus we all know a car is big investment, so you want to keep it looking its best for as long as possible.

Keep up with regular maintenance and check fluids regularly.

Oil should be changed every 5,000 miles at a minimum to help prolong the life of your vehicle. Regularly checking your vehicles fluid can also help with early detection of a larger problem, which could potentially save you a substantial amount of money in repairs.

Be a safer driver on the road.

There are plenty of ways to keep this resolution. From ensuring everyone in the car is properly buckled up to not using your cell phone behind the wheel. Only you know which habits you can improve, so choose the one that best suits you. Splurge pick a few, staying safe is never a bad decision!

Be a more fuel-efficient driver.

Aggressive driving and speeding can increase your fuel consumption by as much as 35 percent. Simply slowing down on the road can help you can keep this resolution!
