You should expect to be treated with the same respect at a car dealership that you expect when you dine at your favorite restaurant. Everyone has a need to feel appreciated. Whether taking your car in for service or purchasing a new vehicle you should be treated with dignity and respect. Everyone in the dealership should make you feel at home and someone should greet you, rather than you having to find a service adviser or sales person. You should feel that the organization went the “extra mile” for you and if any problems arise they should be able to help resolve them in a timely manner. Everyone who comes in contact with you should smile and be friendly and if you have questions that cannot be answered by one person, they should be able to direct you to someone who can. Remember that they are still human and will make mistakes, but it is the willingness to help that is customer service. It is not the product but the attitude of the employees or the way in which they may have been treated (otherwise known as the experience) that people tend to remember.
